The Story Behind The Passion

In August of 2009, after a pizza tour vacation with his family, Tony Naser decided to bring authentic Naples style pizza to Nashua, NH. Making fresh dough and baking pizza every weekend was a family tradition and over the years this tradition became a passion to make the best pizza.

The destination was New York City and all the great pizzerias on the way — grilled pizza in Providence, great coal-fired pizzerias in New Haven, and some of the most famous pizzerias in NYC. They even made a trip out to Las Vegas for a visit to sample pizza.

Pizza originated in Naples Italy. Neopolitan pizza in its purist form has been made the same way in Naples since the 17th century. Once considered a dish for peddlers, pizza was sold by street vendors and not in restaurants. Over the years pizza gained popularity as Naples became a tourist attraction and in the late 19th century pizza was introduced to the United States with the arrival of Italian immigrants.

Crush maintains Neopolitan tradition and is about the simplest and freshest food brought in and made daily. No frozen stuff here! The oven is imported from Italy and burns with an intensity to cook a pizza in 60 - 90 seconds at a blistering 800 - 900 degrees. For Tony, Crush is truly a labor of love.

What is CRUSH Wood Fired Pizza?

An artisan pizza that hits your table still steaming from the wood burning oven. The crust is soft, supple, & super thin. The 1000˚ wood fire chars the puffy edge (cornicione) adding another dimension of flavor. The creamy richness of the house made fresh mozzarella makes way for the sweet tartness of hand crushed San Marzano tomatoes. Add a little Parmigiano Reggiano, fresh basil and some extra virgin olive oil. You can taste each ingredient for what it is. So simple, so fresh, yet every bite sings. Quite possibly the best pizza you’ve ever had.

Modeled after an Italian trattoria, a casual atmosphere where modern meets tradition. The food here shines. Locally sourced ingredients are used whenever possible. Everything at Crush is 100% made from scratch. From the salad dressings to the sauces to the fall of the bone limoncello marinated chicken wings. Marinated for 24 hours in our very own house-made limoncello that takes two months to make. Italian fennel sausage, made from scratch. Fresh mozzarella made daily in-house. The Tiramisu, the panna cotta, the crème brulee and the La Nutella pizza are all made in-house, from scratch. The flavors are all so well balanced & delicious with a meticulous attention to detail. This, my friends, is Crush Pizza.

Our Restaurant

Finally a place where you can walk in, order up a glass of wine or a beer, and in less than 10 minutes you will be eating a bubbling, mouthwatering, slightly charred, basil-infused pizza straight out of our 100% wood-burning oven that was hand built in Italy. Our oven was designed to burn at a constant temperature of 1000 degrees, cooking our pizza in 60 - 90 seconds.

Our main focus at Crush is pizza — pizza like no other. Our pizza is in a different class altogether. First our dough is made using silky flour imported from Naples. Our flour is all natural with no additives or preservatives, and is used by the most highly rated Pizzerias in Italy. The pizza dough spends all night and all morning rising.

The fresh whole milk mozzarella (fior di latte) is shaped by an artisan's hands. And you won't find any canned sauce on our pizza — the tomatoes are crushed by human fingers. We use imported tomatoes from the San Marzano region of Italy, grown in the shadow of Mt. Vesuvius in rich volcanic soil. And you thought pizza was fast food! Our toppings include Mozzarella di Bufala and a variety of meats & vegetables, along with handcrafted salads and appetizers made with fresh local and organic produce whenever possible.

Naples is the birthplace of pizza, and Neapolitan pizza captures the pure essence of this simple and delicious Italian food. True Neopolitan pizza (or D.O.C. pizza, which stands for 'Denominazione di Origine Controllata') is so pure, there are only a handful of restaurants in the U.S. that make it. Crush Pizza creates this “truly authentic” product.

So come on in, sit at our wine bar, and sip Italian and California wines and select beer from Italy and American micro brews.

See you soon!
